Maple wood and walnut segments interlock to create a mixed hardwood base and lid for this airtight storage jar. Glass canister height is matched by an elongated, hand carved maple wood scoop. Intentional details include wave-like wood grain, a tapered and convex scoop that cuts easily into dry goods with ample space, and custom fit inlay to secure the handle.
Made with a lathe, chisels, wood knives, and planing inlays.
